Nearly 70% of youth athletes quit organized sports by age 13, according to the American Academy of Pediatrics — not because they stop loving the game, but because the environment stops supporting them. Kids quit when the sport stops being fun, when they feel behind their teammates, or when pressure and burnout replace joy. Research shows many lose confidence as competition increases, struggle with limited playing time, or feel overwhelmed by expectations.
I’ve lived this firsthand. Growing up, my dream was to play for the U.S. National Team — and by age 15, I was being recruited by hundreds of college coaches at ECNL showcases. I received multiple full-ride offers (including Xavier and Louisville) and ultimately committed, even though deep down I no longer wanted to play in college. What had once been my biggest dream didn’t feel like mine anymore.
But even with those incredible opportunities in front of me, I didn’t want them. Not because they weren’t amazing, but because I was burnt out. I was highly competitive, very skilled, and successful on the field, but the motivation and joy that once fueled me were gone. The pressure, the expectations, and the constant grind slowly replaced the love I had for the game.
And yet, so many young athletes enter their early teen years with big dreams — making elite club teams, excelling in high school, or even playing at the college level. When nearly 70% of kids quit during their most important development years, the difference often comes down to the support they receive. The right environment — one that builds confidence, focuses on individual growth, and keeps the sport enjoyable — can be the key to keeping kids in the game long-term and helping them reach their potential without burning out.
If your child has big goals, shouldn’t their training match their ambition?
Our mission
To continue to give children a reason to want to play -- for themselves, for the fun of the game, the comradery, and the competitiveness of it. I want kids to have a great takeaway in the learning and in life.
Our vision
To grow the sport through athlete enjoyment and instill confidence within the sport by training at highly competitive levels. Pushing them to a point they can see their potential and growth higher than before.
